JEE(MAIN AND ADVANCED): The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an engineering entrance assessment conducted for admission to various engineering colleges in India It is constituted by two different examinations: the JEE MAIN and the JEE ADVANCED. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts the joint admission process for a total of 24 IIT campuses, 32 NIT campuses, 18 IIIT campuses, and 19 (GFTIs) based on the rank obtained by a student in JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.

There are some institutes, such as the  IISERs, the IIPE, the RGIPT, the  (IIST), and the  (IISc), which use the score obtained in the JEE Advanced examination as the basis for admission. These institutes do not participate in the post-examination counseling session (JoSAA). Any student who takes admission to an Indian Institute of Technology cannot appear for the JEE Advanced examination again, but the same is not the case with IISc, IISERs, RGIPT, IIPE, and IIST since they have separate and exclusive counseling sessions.

OLYMPIADS-The Olympiads themselves are separate competitions each with its own organizing body, even though they are loosely grouped together as “ISOs”. The aims of each ISO are to promote a career in science; to challenge the brightest students from around the world; and to compare the various teaching systems of each country. Although the competitions are aimed at secondary school pupils, the standards of the exams are extremely high. In fact, in several countries, achieving a high ranking in any ISO guarantees access to a university of choice and a fellowship. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, for example, famously recruits a multitude of ISO medalists to its incoming undergraduate class every year.
